The night before your wedding is one of the most exciting— yet also nerve-racking— nights of your life. Your wedding day is the start of a thrilling new chapter in your life, one you’ll be spending with your soul mate, but it’s also a bit of a hectic day. To make sure the night before your wedding sets you up for success on your big day, we’ve rounded up some important pre-wedding day tips. Here are the 10 things you should do the night before your wedding!

1. Drink Water

One of the best things you can do the night (and day) before your wedding is to make sure you drink plenty of water. To keep your energy levels high and your skin looking fresh on your wedding day, you need to be hydrated. So, start the day before and make sure you take in plenty of H2O.

2. Get Plenty of Rest

Speaking of staying energized and looking your best, it’s also very important that you get plenty of rest on the day before your wedding. Make sure you get a solid amount of sleep the night before your wedding so you’ll feel refreshed and ready to take on the day in the morning.

 3. Tell Your Helpers "Thank You"

On the night before your wedding, it’s a good idea to tell your friends and family who have helped you prepare for your wedding that you’re thankful for all their help. Send some texts, make some calls, write some notes, or tell people in person. This will show the people who have supported you along the way just how much you appreciate and love them.

4. Pamper Your Skin (But Don't Try Anything New)

On the day before your wedding, remember to keep up with your skin care routine to help your skin look great on your big day. But, caution: don’t try anything new. Now is not the time to try an experimental new facial or face cream. Stick to tried and true skin care methods to avoid irritating or breaking out your skin.

5. Make a List

To help your peace of mind, the night before your wedding, make a list of anything you need to do on your wedding day (you could also do this with anything you need to bring with you). Even if you think you’re completely on top of things, it’s smart to have a physical list you can cross off the next day. Your wedding day might get hectic, things might get lost in the shuffle. But if you have a list you can refer to, you can be confident that you’ll stay on top of what you need to do on (or bring for) your big day.

 6. Check In With Vendors

The day before your wedding, do a final check in with your vendors to make sure everyone is totally confirmed and ready to go. This is a practical step that will help you feel more confident that the next day will go smoothly.

Also, if you haven’t done it yet, make sure you have your vendor tips in order for tomorrow. You don’t want to be scrambling to hit the ATM on your wedding day, so make sure you’ve got that sorted out in advance.

7. Make Your Dinner a Healthy One

The day before your wedding, eat healthy food that you know will make you feel good the next day. Also, remember not to try any new foods the day before your wedding— an upset stomach is not something you want to have to deal with on your wedding day.

8. Pack Your Person Items For Tomorrow

To make sure the morning of your wedding goes smoothly, pack all your wedding essentials the night before your wedding. This includes your dress, wedding ring, your accessories, chargers, things you need for your hair or makeup, and a wedding day emergency kit. Pack everything except your getting ready clothes, which you can lay out next to your packed bag, and you’ll have a much more relaxed morning the next day.

9. Skip the Booze

You might be dying to have a drink at your rehearsal dinner, but it’s a good idea to avoid drinking the day before your wedding. Alcohol can make you retain water, which can lead to your face or belly getting bloated. (Which is probably not what you want in your wedding pictures.) If you really want to have a drink or two on the day before your wedding, remember to drink plenty of water in between drinks to help offset any bloating.

10. Write Your Fiancé A Love Letter

Our last “to do” is a time tested tradition: write your fiancé a love letter. It’s the night before your wedding, your last night as a non-married couple. This letter will be a sweet time capsule of your love, one that will bring you joy when writing it, him joy when reading it, and both you joy when you look back on it years later.
